What are frames? |
Frames allow you to divide the browser window into independent sections that act as sub-windows. Each Frame can have it's own background attribute, it's own scroll bars and it's own name.
Frames allow us to provide static areas in the browser that remain as people visit various portions of a site. For example the index to the left of this page is a frame and will remain throughout the majority of this tutorial.
Frames also allow us as page designers to have a little more control over the look and feel of a page layout.
